Jarrett Krosoczka Author Talk In-Person
Best selling author Jarrett J. Krosoczka will be visiting Greenfield on April 2, 2024! He’ll be at the high school and middle school earlier in the day and will be giving a presentation on his 2018 National Book Award Finalist graphic memoir “Hey, Kiddo: How I Lost My Mother, Found My Father, and Dealt with Family Addiction” at Greenfield Public Library in the Main Meeting Room at 5:30 pm. The general public is welcome and encouraged to attend. This program is age appropriate for 12 through adult. Copies of Hey, Kiddo are available for checkout at Greenfield Public Library and will be available for sale at the event.
From Jarrett’s biography at studiojjk.com: “Jarrett J. Krosoczka, known since boyhood as "JJK," is the New York Times bestselling author/illustrator behind more than forty books for young readers, including his wildly popular Lunch Lady graphic novels, select volumes of the Star Wars™: Jedi Academy series, and Hey, Kiddo, which was a National Book Award Finalist. Krosoczka creates books with humor, heart, and deep respect for his young readers—qualities that have made his titles perennial favorites on the bookshelves of homes, libraries, and bookstores over the past twenty years.
Realizing that his books can inspire young readers beyond the page, Krosoczka founded School Lunch Hero Day, a national campaign celebrating school lunch staff. A consummate advocate for arts education, Krosoczka also established the Joseph and Shirley Krosoczka Memorial Youth Scholarships, which fund art classes for underprivileged children in his hometown of Worcester, Massachusetts.”
This program is generously funded by The Friends of the Greenfield Public Library, The Opioid Task Force, Massachusetts Library Board of Library Commissioners and The Institute of Museum and Library Services.
