The Greenfield Public Library is pleased to welcome author Paul “Greg” Smith on Tuesday, November 12 at 6:30pm in the library’s Community Meeting Room where he will discuss his book Confessions of a Weekend Warrior.

Brigadier General Paul “Greg” Smith will describe his personal journey during these years, from a callow cadet to a committed commander leading military forces in response to Hurricane Irene, the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings, and other emergencies. Smith will give a humorous, gritty, and perhaps touching glimpse into the inner workings of this unique military organization while offering portraits of the men and women who serve as the minutemen of our age. His reflections on service, duty, and the complexities of command will enlighten anyone who seeks to better understand today's military and the challenges of leadership.
Paul “Greg” Smith served for 37 years in the Army and Massachusetts National Guard, retiring in 2014 as a brigadier general. His writing has been published in many periodicals such as Country Living, Career World, ARMY, Military History, Canada's History, and other magazines.
