Sewing Patterns Demystified In-Person
This is a lecture class on deciphering sewing patterns, including basic sewing construction skills and pattern and fabric terminology. No actual sewing or cutting is involved. Please bring a pen and paper to take notes. There will be a Q&A period, so if you have a specific question, sewing pattern, or fabric you want to discuss, bring it with you!
Avery Cassell is a self-taught sewist who’s been sewing for 50+ years. Their first project was a skirt in 7th grade home economics where they inserted the zipper in backwards. It could only go uphill after that. They love to sew and to teach that love to others!
Pre-registration opens April 28 and closes the day before the event.
These programs are free and are funded by the Franklin County Agricultural Society and intended to inspire participants to enter their projects in the fair.
Due to the popularity of these programs, we ask that you sign up for no more than 2 at a time. We’ll be offering more programs in the upcoming months.
Classes are intended for ages 13 through adult.
